My fascination with brushing off snow from a car!

So today it's been snowing since morning all day. It's quite windy too, more like a blizzard that has resulted in everything covered with heaps of snow all over. The cars, the roads, the parks, you name it..it's a snow-white land here. The snow just keeps collecting and layering softly. Whenever I see cars on a snowy day I feel " how I wish I could brush off the snow from this car". That desire usually goes away almost as instantly as it comes as I'm probably in a hurry and have other things to think about.

I must confess, this is a recurring desire that returns every time I have a sighting of a snow-covered car.

I do run the possible option in my mind that I'd brush off some snow quickly before someone has suspicion that I'm trying to break into a car or steal something. But the probability of the car alarm going off and drawing attention to myself suppresses the idea almost immediately.

However today, I was in luck. My Manager usually gives me a lift to a client's place since I do not drive yet and going on foot isn't a possibility in the time that I have. I'm guessing she might haven't taken the car out today and so it was quite completely covered with a huge heap of snow. Seeing that, I was utterly filled with joy. While I waited for her to come down I brushed off some snow with my mittens.

Such glorious pleasure I tell you! Soft tiny granules that aren't sticky just swish off. So light and fluffy. It got better. My manager walked out of her gate with a brush. I jumped at the opportunity and said - "Can I please brush off the snow from your car?". I was literally pleasantly begging. Of course, she said yes.

That experience of sweeping off the soft and tender snow from the windshield and the windows and the rest of the car - so so satisfying. It was a total dopamine rush! I cannot wait to do this the next time.

I am aware that brushing off snow and ice obviously isn't a pleasurable experience if the snow has turned to ice and you're in a hurry to get somewhere and need to just drive but have to spend time scraping off the ice which can be troublesome and quite annoying.

But we're not there yet. We're living in the most beautiful winter with -8 degrees celsius, a gorgeous blizzard and heaps of fluff on the ground and on cars. Last I checked it was between 10-12 cms high. While this is my present reality, I'm gonna make the most of this coz we all know, nothing lasts forever. So I called another colleague of mine and reserved the snow brushing chore for myself lest she does it herself and reduces my estimated pleasure.

I'm off to a lovely walk in the snow in my warmest of clothes layered securely, cherishing every bit of it feeling most grateful for this winter. While mine is warm and comfortable I whisper a prayer for those who aren't - that they may be safe, secure and find lodging to be dry and warm.
