Amidst fields of corn
Like an oasis in the desert
Like warmth amidst the snow
Like Shelter in the rain
Wouldn’t know
Wouldn’t imagine
If I hadn’t stumbled upon
Destiny heading right up to me
Would you think?
Would you know?
I watch them speaking words of joy
Sharing stories of old
Adventures from then and now
Eyes shining bright
Their hearts open wide
Mothers dancing with their daughters
Friends singing under the porch
Laughter floats in the air
All evening and even after sundown there’s more
Would you think?
Yes, would you know?
A tribe that was thought of as cold
Here tucked away, tucked away
In the heart among fields of corn
Far far away
Warmth like gentle breeze, gentle breeze
Beyond the city
Miles and miles further where the deer tread freely
Men talking, women speaking
Sharing tales of far high and low
As I listen I hear their soul
Full of kindness, so full of hope
Sitting around the table
With meals of bliss
Oh heaven in front of me
Where have I been led?
Joy joy joy fills me all around
Joy stirs up from within
A place where people have time for one another
Their hearts, their hearts, their hearts
So filled with love
Humans, unlike the ones you’ve always known
Truth in their voices
And when I feel this around me
Magic is all I see
Royals, Immortals, Saints are they?
Mere humans can they really be?
When you leave they give you a package of meals
to take with you in your hands for your way
I stop and think
Oh heaven, where am I led?
Amidst these fields of corn
