In exchanges and conversations 

Humour and anger

The layers in between that linger

Fascination gets me 

As I experience them just being.

Beyond digital 

Picky over choosing a gift 

For a fellow mate 

Colours and form 

Pockets and norms 

Look! A Jewellery market!

I’d love to get a pendant for me 

I’ll try to be quick - I say

Gleefully accompanying me along 

Lying in the sun 

Respecting the space 

Clear good lines drawn 

Not bodyguards 

Not rescuers

No princes, not them please! 

Men in their energy 

Me in mine 

Colleagues, friends, mentors 

Patience a currency 

Runs in among them all

Riding along life’s journey 

Unfolding what befalls
