Boating - Édouard Manet
Here I stand
In a place where you aren't
I step into the boat and sail with a human who isn't you
You stay on the shore
How will it be?
It's again a place of wavering confusion
For I have clarity
I'm not certain how much clarity the human I journey with has
This is my reality
I'll experience it with Openness
In the absence of you - I take Patience with me
I take Kindness too
I have invited Wisdom with us as well
The four of them are sure to be just enough
Through storm or thunder
Somewhere we'll land
With these by my side
I am sure
We won't be wrecked
We'll be on the other side of the tide
Somewhere new
And while I write this - I hear Patience gently calling with kind eyes
